Making a Difference

Program Overview

RU’s faith-based approach to dealing with addiction has made a positive difference across the country. Read what professionals say about RU.

When Reformers Unanimous was introduced to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center it filled a much needed void. I have never seen a program transform a facility the way R.U. did. The program not only enlightens the lives of the incarcerated that we administer to but also the way the staff interacts with them. In my twenty years in corrections and law enforcement, I have never seen a program captivate a facility in this manner. The Reformers Unanimous staff has brought a ray of hope and love to this detention center as well as to the surrounding community. Individuals who have been repeat offenders for many years have been transformed from their addictive behavior. These individuals are returning to society as productive citizens and are, returning to the facility to mentor to those still incarcerated. Needless to say, I am a strong advocate for a Reformers Unanimous program in every community.
Bernard Salandy

Superintendent, Rutherford County Correctional Work Center (Murfreesboro, Tennessee)

Reformers Unanimous Program is an accepted alternative to other twelve step programs for fulfilling court ordered conditions of probation. I am currently the Presiding Judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Drug Court. As you know our Drug Court is a response to a substantial increase of drug addiction and the impact on the criminal justice system.

Reformers Unanimous integrates a high level of supervision and substance abuse treatment in a controlled environment and is committed to the success of all participants. With the assistance of this program participants recover from substance abuse and become productive members of society. While presiding in Drug Court I have observed the commitment and change of life style that participants have experienced. In addition, those who complete your program recognize responsibility, accountability, discipline and a positive attitude and become reintegrated into the community.

Ronald White

Judge, 17th Circuit Court Winnebago County Illinois

One of the biggest challenges facing the offender population today is accessing substance abuse treatment and skill building for a life of recovery. TASC and Reformer’s Unanimous have been working together to reduce recidivism by ensuring that as clients reenter the community they are engaged in activities that are administered by Reformers Unanimous. This not only benefits the clients personally but it also benefits the community by producing productive, employable, and stable citizens. TASC has referred clients to Reformer’s Unanimous and has seen very positive results. Communication has been comprehensive, detailed, and thorough, which has ensured that the clients are involved in a seamless system. It is evident that Reformers Unanimous is an asset to our community and an important connection for offenders who are released from jail.

Treatment Alternatives Safer Communities

I have been working with hurting people since 1962 and I’ve seen a lot of patients coming out of treatment programs. I find that Reformers Unanimous’ recovery rates are much better than other treatment options. Reformer’s faith based approach is beneficial to the recovery of patients, as are the learned cognitive behavioral skills. I would recommend RU to anyone looking for a recovery program that works.
